This is The Culebra. It's a pen that was hand-turned to create a wooden core upon which a snakeskin (diamondback water snake) was wrapped. The metal hardware is pewter. It accepts Parker pen ink refills. They are inexpensive and widely-available. The ink is black and the pen is awesome. This pen is beefy and heavy.
As always, the wood was responsibly sourced from fallen timber. The snake was found near a riverbank. It had died of natural causes.
**The handmade pens are just that. Made by hand. One at a time. On a lathe. By a guy. Because they are made by hand, they are also completely unique. The one that you receive and cherish will be slightly different than the one that is pictured. It will also be a little different from the one that you order for your dad. And Uncle Billy. (Billy's going to love this!)
