The Black Pancake

The Black Pancake is a pen that was hand-turned. The wood was all sustainably sourced from fallen timbers. Accepts Cross pen ink refills, which are widely available. Made of spalted maple and black walnut. Spalting occurs when a dead (usual fallen) log starts to decompose. The black lines are made by a fungus that follows the tree's vascular system.

**The handmade pens are just that. Made by hand. One at a time. On a lathe. Because they are made by hand, they are also completely unique. The one that you receive and cherish will be slightly different than the one that is pictured. It will also be a little different from the one that you order for your dad. And Uncle Billy. (Billy's going to love this!)
