These are The Shpalties. The are made of spalted elm. They are a pen and pencil set that were hand-turned. The pen accepts Cross pen ink refills. They are inexpensive and widely-available. The ink is black and the pen is awesome. The pencil has a hidden eraser and is refillable with pencil lead.
**The handmade pens and pencils are just that. Made by hand. One at a time. On a lathe. By a guy. Because they are made by hand, they are also completely unique. The ones that you receive and cherish will be slightly different than the ones that are pictured. They will also be a little different from the ones that you order for your dad. And Uncle Billy.
